What A Guy

So, just in case it hadn't sunken in, the current front-runner for the GOP presidential nominee, a man who's major claim to fame is his national security expertise relating to 9/11, suggested that the Secretary of Homeland Security should be a guy that, beside having mob connections and other problems, may have even lied on his application for the job.

That would be the same front-runner who just gladly accepted an endorsement from a a guy who said we probably deserved 9/11, what with our having let the ACLU, pro-choice advocates and feminists secularize the nation, causing God to turn away from us. He had a similar speculation regarding Hurricane Katrina.

Some people might think such things said something about the candidate's decision-making ability, and his qualifications for the highest office. But people like that are clearly the sort of irrational, small-minded folk who would get concerned that he hired an accused child-molesting priest to work for his consulting firm, or that his senior foreign policy advisor has been enthusiastically promoting us bombing Iran.

Not, in other words, GOP primary voters, apparently.

(When I was a boy, I remember there were sane, even admirable Republicans. I kinda miss them. These guys just make me sad, and very scared.)
