A while back, following Katrina, a bunch of bloggers gathered some funds to send one of their number to New Orleans to report first hand. She's put together a short online video that every American ought to see.

When you get the tears out of your eyes, contact your Representatives and Senators and remind them that the rest of the country is still paying attention, and is holding them personally accountable for doing something about it.
