Welcome To The Ownership Society!

Back when George Bush and his gang were blathering about the "ownership society" and how wonderful it would be, I didn't realize quite what they had in mind...
The Bush administration sketched out a multi-faceted effort on Friday to confront the worst U.S. financial crisis in decades, outlining a program that could cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars to buy up bad mortgages and other toxic debt.
Actually, I suppose that if they'd gotten their way and every American's retirement money had gone into the market, it might have enabled these Wiley Coyotes to keep running, even though they left the edge of the cliff a long time ago. Or at least that's what they were probably hoping for.

Isn't it funny how we can never find enough money for education or health care or even repairing bridges, but we can find untold gazillions when it turns out the Old Boys (and particularly the GOP) have been getting rich by leveraging the world economy six ways from Sunday using play money and promises?

Meanwhile, on John McCain's planet, it is apparently Obama's fault. No, seriously. That's his argument. (Can we see his medical records? Has he had a neurological workup lately?)
