'Tis A Puzzlement

Mr. Bush would have us believe that he was not involved in the firing of US Attorneys. Which, if true, makes me wonder why he would invoke executive privilege on the basis that his advisors need to be able to discuss things with the President frankly.

But if they weren't discussing this with the President, and he wasn't involved, why exactly should executive privilege apply?
