Where Have All the Scientists Gone?

If the recent tragicomedy of the Space Shuttle has left you despairing about the state of American "can do" spirit and the brilliance of our scientists and engineers, and El Presidente's recent comments in support of "Intelligent Design" make you worried for the future of our educational system, you are not alone.

By way of solace, I recommend this lovely tantrum from the Kung Fu Monkey. Be warned, the writer, pushed past his limit, uses some crude language to make his passionate point. In his defense, I will say, to paraphrase, extremism in the defense of Reason and the Enlightenment is no vice. And what good is having a tantrum if you can't throw in some cuss words? Really.
