Let's Get It Started
OK, the list of offenses has gotten so long, and so egregious, that we've all gotten numb, and we're starting to lose track of their number and their enormity. It's about time we got started on getting them all down more formally. Here is a start, but I don't have hours and hours to go on with it right now. I encourage reader participation in drafting further articles, and amending and refining the wording of this one. Use the Comment feature below to join in. - P.

RESOLVED, That George Walker Bush, President of the United States, is impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors and that the following articles of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate:
Article I
In his conduct while President of the United States, George Walker Bush, in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has, acting personally and through his subordinates and agents, willfully corrupted and manipulated the constitutional process of the United States, in that:
1. On January 28, 2003, George Walker Bush, before a Joint Session of Congress, did violate his responsibility under Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution of the United States by providing false and misleading information of the state of the union concerning one of more of the following: (1) the nature and extent of the threat to the United States; (2) the true and complete evidence supplied by both foreign and domestic intelligence agencies regarding that threat; and (3) the President's commitment to peace and reluctance to commit the Armed Forces of the United States into aggressive and illegal acts of war against a sovereign nation.
2. By providing this false and misleading information, he did seek to manipulate the Congress to appropriate monies for use in illegal acts of war upon a sovereign nation, and usurp the power of Congress to declare war under Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution of the United States,
3. He did encourage and influence the testimony of his subordinates, both to the public and their representatives in Congress, in support of this false and misleading information, for the purposes of manipulating both Congress and the People to support illegal acts of war.
In all of this, George Walker Bush has undermined the integrity of his office, has brought disrepute on the Presidency, has betrayed his trust as President and has acted in a manner subversive of the rule of law and justice, to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.
Wherefore, George Walker Bush, by such conduct, warrants impeachment and trial, and removal from office and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States.
