The West Wing
They don't really expect me to believe that Jed Barlett, a extremely well-educated man with an interest in Constitutional history, wouldn't know that originally inaugurations were in March and that they didn't get moved up to January until the ratification of the 20th Amendment, beginning with FDR's second inauguration in 1937?
I mean, I had to look up which amendment, and the 1937 bit, but even I knew that Jefferson, et al., didn't come up with the idea of January.
The scenes of the moving crew in the White House were good. Do you suppose W. has ever read Michel Foucault? Do you suppose he even knows who he is?
I'll miss this show. It was nice to visit a world where the people in charge were brilliant, caring, and believed that government was a tool to do good in the world, not an evil that needed to be 'drowned in the bathtub.'
