What To Do?

So many topics, so little time...

Should I write about Brownie's pathetic, oblivious and self-serving testimony before Congress, which was so bad that even an overwhelmingly Republican committee couldn't pretend it wasn't? (Is it perjury if he's too stupid to know how much he is lying?)

Should I write about W's call for fuel conservation as he flies around the country for photo ops? Or his push for increased military authority in natural disasters?

Should I write about the rumor that Tom Delay is about to be indicted in Texas?

Or about Tom Delay's good buddy Jack Abramoff, the scandal factory? They've just made arrests in the mob-style slaying of a former business partner in Florida, and it seems that Jack has connections not only to the core national Republicans, but also to the Gambino family. No, wait, how about the new investigation into why a 2002 US Attorney's investigation of Jack Abramoff's activities in Guam was suddenly ended and the head of the investigation was demoted?

Maybe it would be important to write about the intelligence report suggesting that the "terrorists" in Iraq are on the verge of becoming a self-sustaining guerilla army? Or, while dealing with Iraq, the scandal of soldiers trading pictures of dead Iraqis for access to online porn? (Gosh, that invasion was a good idea.)

But if I wrote about that, would I have room to discuss the nominee for Deputy Attorney General of the US, who is distinguished not only by his service for to the Tyco Corporation, but also his links to the aformentioned Jack Abramoff, and his role in the legal figleaf the White House uses to justify torture?

Should I discuss the surrealism in the White House sending Laura Bush to Biloxi to appear on a hurricane-recovery episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition? Then I'd get to speculate on what will happen when it airs in December and reminds everyone of how lame the response to Katrina was, which would be fun.

Ooh, look. While I've been wondering, they've gone and indicted Delay after all! Well, OK then. I have to go do my little happy dance now. Won't if be fun to see who Hastert picks to replace him, since the rules say he has to step down now...
