Blog For Relief Day

Hundreds of bloggers have agreed to make posts today encouraging their readers to contribute to relief for the Hurricane Katrina disaster.

For my part, I'm suggesting readers follow the link to Habitat for Humanity, and use their online form to donate. Most of those matchsticks we see piled up in shots from Waveland, Gulfport, Biloxi, Slidell and so on used to be parts of people's homes, now gone. The homes Habitat builds are sold for no profit, with no-interest mortgages, and are built by the future homeowners, with the guidance and assistance of volunteers.

The needs are many. Do what you can.
