Rant Globally, Blog Locally
If you scroll down the page, you'll notice I've added a new feature to the sidebar, a feed from the Northwest Portal Hotlist.
Though my ranting focus is national and global, I live in the Pacific Northwest, and so do many of my readers. Recently, a group of blogs dedicated to progressive takes on local and regional issues has banded together as part of a spiffy website, Pacific Northwest Portal, that ought to be on any activist's list hereabouts.
In an effort to further the reach of the commentary to be found on these blogs, they've also created a service called the Hotlist, which automatically gathers together certain postings from these blogs, and allows lazy wankers like me to post headlines on my blog at the mere cost of a few template changes and CSS modifications. What Seattle-based, latte-sippin', Lockean-liberal empiricist blogger who is still smarting over the loss in November and determined to do what he can to build for next time could resist? Certainly not this one.
You people who live in other places should still take a look. Currently in the Hotlist is coverage of the Republican legal challenge to the Democratic candidate's win in our oh-so-tight gubernatorial election. It's a tasty treat for election wonks and power-struggle fans no matter where you are. Hey, and when you're tired of the pettiness and stupidity of the politicians in the other Washington, you can find a whole new set of characters in this Washington!
Let me know what you think.
