I've been thinking that the childhood story that Bush personified was the one about the Emperor's New Clothes, with the mainstream media playing the role of the populace too timid to point out the obvious truth.
But now he seems to be playing the Boy in the Boy Who Cried Wolf. Check out this link to their website for their latest campaign ad, and try not to laugh when it gets to the nice puppies at the end.
